@LeopoldStotch: Alpe d'huez has a ton of trails, not only bike park type but a lot of old hiking trails that goes down at the bottom of the valley. Basically who can ride from 3300m (the top) to 700m (Allemond at the bottom) and everything is lift serviced. A day pass cost 25€ and 6 days pass 106€.
I know Alpe d'huez since the year 2000 and I keep coming back every year. I mapped all the trails on Trailforks and except 1 or 2, all the hiking trails are also open to mountain biking.

It's possible to ride the entire track all summer long when the lift are opens. 0 restrictions. Of course if you ant a lot of snow at the top, it's better to come begining of July. I was there last week and the snow conditions were decent. Less snow of course but early in the morning it was soft of course but still rideable.

You're attached to the bike with a rope and when you crash (usually it implies a desolidarisation of the rider from the bike), it pulls to the rope and triggers the inflatable airbag.
It's how it works for horse riding. It's quite simple.
