Review: The SR Suntour Durolux 38 EVO Fork is a Budget Performer
Suntour crowns have a reputation for never creaking.
I’m guessing but I don’t think the RC2 uses a real shim stack, so the new one should be more tunable.
I bought a Husky HC1 to get the Durolux RC2 fork and Magura MT5 brakes, bonus it was the cheapest model. Higher spec Huskies have sram brakes and 28 spoke wheelsets, not for me.
Yes, zero tokens is the best setup, fork seems to hit a pressure wall going through the travel, if I’m going faster than I should at 66 yrs old it works fantastic, but If I ride at a moderate speed it can be jarring over certain roots and rock. Actually feels best with high and low speed compression rotated to the max setting, I think it may be slowing the approach to the pressure ramp just enough to minimize the shock to the hands.
Good chance I will update to the new RC in the future, but going to work with my RC2 a bit more.
Coil conversion would be nice but I will have to homebrew one If I decide to go that way. Right now I’m experimenting with converting the two stage token setup to a coil spring loaded variable volume compensator. Don’t know long term durability though.
