Pinkbike Poll: Do You Seek Out New Riding Areas?
My family is making our third trip in five years from the PNW to Morzine in a couple weeks. Beyond riding different terrain, it's awesome to meet riders from other places.
The downside to traveling via plane to ride is listening to my wife complain as we maneuver bike bags across Europe. Next time you see one of those LSD videos where the team is moving bikes via rented trucks/vans; just remember its not like that for most of us. No rental cars, just mad dashes to find space on trains and long spells trying find a ride share big enough to accommodate two bike bags.

Renthal Announces Single Collar Lock-On Grips
I've used the white and clear versions. The clear get a little discolored over time, but I've never had any issues with them breaking down.

Renthal Announces Single Collar Lock-On Grips
I've used their tacky and super tacky grips for years. Besides dust clinging to the grips occasionally, I've never had an issue with them slipping or being uncomfortable. I used the super tacky with my kids as they were starting out; I feel like it provides them an extra level of confidence having that sticky connection to their grips.

Just wait. All the effort you put in now to get them comfortable on bikes pays off enormously once they're older. I remember my 9 year old son crying at the top of Park City because the decent was daunting. Fast forward 6 years and we ride together regularly. The little kid who was scared at the top of Park City now smokes me on the downhills.
Even better than the time we get to ride together, are rituals we've developed pre and post ride. I wouldn't give up those experiences for anything. This summer we're making our third trip across the pond to spend a month in Morzine. The experiences are unforgettable and the lessons my son's learned about tackling fears and grit will benefit him for a lifetime.
