Welcome to the 2023 Value Bike Field Test
@ultimatist: agree, I've had to tighten that a couple of times. It's now part of my bolt check routine

Welcome to the 2023 Value Bike Field Test
I have an XC bike with SLX and then I bought the Status with SRAM NX. Based on the Pinkbike comment section I thought it would spontaneously fall apart after 4 rides, but it has been just fine after a year of hard riding.

Video: B.C. Mixtape with Caleb Holonko, Yoann Barelli & Crew
@yoannbarelli: thanks for looking into it. The statement is very corporate, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt: it sounds like it's a fine company with weird owners. There are certainly some of those companies in the US also. Hope to see you on the trails some time

2022 Pinkbike Awards: Innovation of the Year Winner
My regular enduro loop is 5 miles and 1500 ft vertical, which takes me about 50 minutes on my regular mtb, with 5 minutes of fun downhill. I don't like those 50lbs e-bikes, they feel like mini dirtbikes. But if a 40lbs e-bike lets me do the loop twice in the same amount of time AND lets me remove the battery for rides with regular bikes or shuttle days, that would be pretty cool. I doubt that I'm just 0.01% of cyclists. And look at the other nominated innovations, they weren't really that spectacular, there just isn't that much innovation in regular bikes: slightly enhanced MIPS or a seat angle adjuster?

ProTaper Releases New Carbon, Aluminum & XC Bars
Does anyone know where the aluminum bars are made? Google says China, but not sure if that's still the case. I need bars with more rise, but I'd like to buy ones that are made in North America if possible.

Burning Question: Why Are So Many Bike Manufacturers Putting Cables Through the Headset?
Do Scott's integrated Synchros bars even support spacers? You definitely can't change the stem only. I agree with your point but Scott has clearly gone all in on a 'clean' look.

Old Gold: Dakine Slayer Knee Pads
I had the Sam Hill Lite's and they were so thin that I still had beat up knees. I heard the regular Sam Hill pads are much better, but I haven't tried them. Instead, I got the IXS Flow Evo+ pads which are great
