Transition Releases Relay Lightweight eMTB
we're workin' onnit..... Cities, Counties, Townships are welcoming e-mtbs on the trails within their jurisdictions, whereas the stodgy State and Federal government administrator folks are woefully on their heels playing a slow game of 'what's an ebike?' It's frustrating, but not surprising.

Interview: Jack Moir on Joining YT & His Enduro Racing Sucess
@striveCF15: Not sure what world you live in, but getting sacked at any moment does regularly happen to employees at nearly all privately owned companies. Why would you expect bike-world to be any different. It's the way of the world, quite unfair, but nobody ever said life was fair.

Review: Rossignol Heretic - Not Quite Ready for Prime Time
Looks a lot like my GT that runs a 185x50 trunion RS shock. I'm 205 lbs and run 190 psi to get 28-30% sag...this bike runs considerably more psi, for a rider 35 lbs lighter, with a longer shock stroke too. I wonder if the damping spec on that shock was flubbed as rockshox offers different tuning states for rear shocks.....

Pinkbike Poll: How Many Days Did You Ride in 2022?
I have no idea, but I feel like in 2022 I rode my bike a ton more than pre-covid times. While I have an office location, I somehow manage to work from home quite a bit, and at 3pm, I'm usually out the door riding to my local trail that's only about 2 miles away from my house. I couldn't have it easier or more convenient to get out and have some fun. Add in studded tires, and the fun doesn't stop because of snow, ice and winter

Throwback Thursday: 9 Bikes Turning 10 in 2023
I still have my original era Specialized SX from 2008 (the black and red one with the checkerboard graphics). Used it for dual slalom racing from 2016-2019 at a local ski area series, and it was so great for that style of riding. Long and low, the low bottom bracket really made it corner like a demon, and the short travel smoothed out track ripples just enough to keep the wheels from skipping away from you... I now just take it for short trail rides (got a 60mm rise bar on it now for comfort), and will probably never sell it because, frankly, nobody wants such a weirdo bike!

Review: 7iDP Sam Hill & Sam Hill Lite Knee Pads
almost got the regular Sam Hill pads but ended up getting the Dainese Trail skin air pads, as they have decent coverage for a lite pad, and essentially flow huge quanties of air. I figured I'd wear them more often in the hot weather if they breathed well, as most people don't wear pads because they're invariably too hot. It's a big consideration....

The Pinkbike Podcast: Things We (Sometimes) Miss About Older Bikes
NOT ONE THING! Started mountain biking in the 1980's, and I've ridden a lot of bikes. Honestly, bikes only got good in the last few years, when the new slack geometry kicked in. Prior to that, they never handled very well, suspension was rudimentary, components were poorly designed and critical components didn't last. It's so much better now, that I've thrown out my rose colored glasses once and for all....the past was worse than anyone wants to remember.

Lewis Buchanan Signs With... OnlyFans?
Seeing that 2023 is going to be a stressful year for pro athletes, with all the looming bike biz cuts, this Only Fans sponsorship Lewis has secured might be the first of more similar setups. Hope he benefits from this arrangement, as living the mtb-life is not very easy! Best of luck to Lewis, as I've watched his previous content (on YouTube) and it's all great viewing.
