@matadorCE: I actually messed up my initial reply, tried to edit it and failed. So go ride your bike and don't worry about it.

@matadorCE: How many feet to you get to climb per year there in Florida? A smart trainer is a very different experience than the "dumb" trainers of the past.

@mpcremata: KICKR CORE $899 https://www.wahoofitness.com/devices/bike-trainers/kickr-core-indoor-smart-trainer New Road Bike $650 https://www.jensonusa.com/Giant-Contend-3-Bike-2019 Total $1550 If cost is really a factor you could get KICKR SNAP smart trainer for $599 You could probably find a good deal on a used bike for even less as well. Making you total investment in an awesome virtual cycling setup under and a bike for $1000. Also, there is no reason not to just use your mountain bike. The KICKR and CORE are both compatible with 142 and 148 axles right out of the box.

Rotor R-Hawk Cranks - Review
I would agree with you on the square taper, octalink, isis and profile splines but the RHawk cranks hold up very well. I have been running them for a year now with no issues coming loose. I am on the same bearings as well, but I do very little riding in poor conditions on the bike I run these cranks on.
