@chrismac70: Except the data show that they _are_ doing _something_, it's just not kickback from chain growth (except the corner case of a huge drop at very very slow speed).
Riders _can_ feel some effect (unless you don't trust _any_ of the pros that say they can; though some nice double-blind "feel" testing would be nice to see), it's just pretty much exclusively from the chain and cassette wobbling around, and almost never from chain-growth-induced-kickback.

@nnowak: Even if you could, you wouldn't. It might help show that cassette rotation is indeed the largest contributor, but it's not a good solution to the actual issue of chain feedback.

"Interestingly, this could happen on a hardtail, or a bike with no chain growth"
