Heckler's Rock: The Final Heckle - Video
I was there, and the first pass on the lift they were in a jolly mood. The second pass they were completely out of control. Two of my friends got hit in the face with full water bottles. Not to mention the fact that these cans and bottles are falling down on the race course. While I'm all for a good time, this was just a sloppy sh*t show that had nothing to do with biking. The majority of the crowd wasn't even watching the race, just drinking and throwing things at people on the lift. Lame. Once again, it's why we can't have nice things.

Photo Epic: 2015 Downieville Classic
I rode it for the first time a couple of months back and it has a couple pedal sections that if you were racing you would be bummed on wearing knee pads and a full face, but the speeds you can hit on the descents are pretty nuts.i wouldn't be wearing an xc kit, but that is prob all those guys ride in anyway. Lycra was banned from UCIDH for a reason, it's faster.

Honestly, that trip would have been way more fun with some motos. A trials bike for the first two segments then a big enduro with a paddle tire and you couldn't punch a grin off your face. Not enough elevation to make it worth traveling all that way with the old push iron imho.
