Pinkbike Poll: Are You a Brand Loyalist?

I had a bad experience with SRAM's first gen Eagle almost 10 years ago. And their brakes at the time. For better or worse, I have not given them a chance since then. I've been loyal to Shimano drivetrains, even if I had to do 15 minutes of clutch maintenance every few months. Droppers must be BikeYoke. I have no shame there. For me, they are head and shoulders above anything else I've tried. On brakes, Hayes all the way but I do experiment with others. Hubs, rims, tires, cockpit, clothing ... whatever works.

The 27.5" Front Wheel Is Dead And I'm More OK With That Than I Ever Thought I Would Be

I'm late to this party. As a short king (5'8"), I really love my full 27.5 Ibis HD5. It is so much fun to ride and results were good. After 5 years, I got the new bike itch and went mullet with a Devinci Troy carbon. The big front wheel felt tall and wieldy for a while. I've gotten used to it. But ... before I was even fully comfortable on the bike, I rode it at the bike park and set PRs all over the mountain. I still like the fun feel of the 27.5 bike, but I can't argue with the numbers.

Oak Components Levers Claim Increased Power for Hope Tech 4 V4 Brakes

Generally speaking, a longer lever is going to have this results: more force over a longer lever throw with a softer lever feel. If you have small hands and run the lever close to the bar already, beware that a longer lever will travel further so you will have to run them further out or reduce the free stroke so that under pressure, you don't run out of space before they pinch your other fingers.
