3% inbound / foreign visitors
33% Japanese (from outside of Hokkaido)
64% Japanese (from inside of Hokkaido)
As for "authentic Japanese experiences", it is true that the resort in winter is pretty foreign and that many Japanese people in the resorts speak English. Still over 1/3 of travelers in winter are Japanese though... so if you aren't having "authentic experiences" it is on you.

Precisely, this the same thing happened in the enthusiast motorsports.
The majority of real drivers shifted away from their manual Miatas to CVT equipped Hyundai Elantras and heavy e-cars. No longer will they need to trouble their little minds with things like "shifting" - has always been about numbers and not about the experience and emotion of it all.
