UCI Announces 2024 World Cup Calendar
@SvenNorske: Katerina is from CZE, but has lived in the States for probably over 25 years. Yes she was an XC/CX racer, but has always been one for fighting for equal rights for all racers- DH and XC. One of the most level headed and straight shooters i have known. She is a very good athlete representative (both DH and XC) for UCI, though I suspect she is fighting the "good ol' boy" UCI bullshit in her job. She would also be the first to fight to have more North American or global rounds if it was up to her.

UCI Announces 2024 World Cup Calendar
@ATXZJ: "I am very, very curious as to how the spectator turnout will be at the XC only events. We shall see." I am not sure how a WC XCO only will go in USA, but WC XCO only events in EU are pretty dam good. Nove Mesto is one of the best events of the season since their beginning. Regularly about 40,000 paying spectators over the weekend. Some of the best crowds i have witnessed over the last 25 years of attending WC's. Super bummed to see the EDR an only EU Cup though, but happy to see that Leogang is DH and EDR only in '24. I do think UCI learned they could not manage all 3 disciplines on a weekend. Leogang was a nightmare for teams/staff particularly for EDR people. Hopefully Loudenville can redeem themselves and figures out how to manage 2 disciplines better. Shame because the EWS was always good there but this year was clearly overlooked with DH in town. Not enough recourses.

@tigerfish50: This Worlds course was designed/built by Paul Davis- same as London, Rio and Tokyo Olympics. Shows the evaluation of both XCO and course design over the years. London also had many constraints... Well done Paul. Looks amazing.

@rarerider: Yes, it was a big day out for the riders even with the first shuttle. Big rain storm today also made things fun. Will be a hard one like 2020 again.

Interview: 5 World Cup Mechanics Talk About Stressful Fixes, Favorite Tools, & More
Stikman! Ha the stories you have of the '90's mtb things would freak out most mechanics I'm sure. I was not much of a racer going to the early NORBAs and found myself always wondering the pits watching the mechanics like you, Monk (Rip), Buck and Daubert. Coming from bike shops to the race circuit in 2000 working with Buck and Specialized to going to Gary Fisher/Trek, various national/Olympics/Worlds teams and now in the Enduro world recently with Rocky Mountain and now Yeti, I would not trade any of it for another job. I am always amazed by the wealth of knowledge I have learned from past and current mechanics to do my job. Buck, Monk, Trotter and especially Ray Waxham are some my best mentors. Beers(Buck/Trotter), Mountain Dew (Monk) and lemonade (Ray) cheers to you! Nice article Matt/PB !

It is a B W International box. I have just "moved" into one after 23 years using various different cases from Chicago Case, Husky and some tool rolls on the circuit. Well made boxes and tool pallets.
