Pinkbike Poll: Belt-Drive DH Bikes Have Passed the Test - Will You Buy One?
@mashrv1: you might be right. I just know the extra torque wears out chains on derailleur e-bikes much quicker.

Pinkbike Poll: Belt-Drive DH Bikes Have Passed the Test - Will You Buy One?
I've had a belt drive e-bike commuter for over 10 years. 9K miles on the original belt and it is still fine. I'm sold on them for commuting e-bikes for sure. E-bike chains are lucky to make it 1500 miles and the belts are a set it and forget it. So smooth, quiet, and really no downsides. Now for mountain bikes...maybe.

@rscreen: a friend had a Santa Cruz e-mountain bike recently catch fire in his garage in Utah. So, yeah, not just the cheap ones.

Aug 4, 2026Druid V2, S2 (Medium), complete bike--many new parts
$3600 USDThe frame is about 19 months old, 1357 miles on it and fork, and has Ride Wrap on it still. The wheels, tires, and grips are brand new. The brakes, cranks, bb, handlebars, headset, and saddle all have four rides on them. The rear derailleur was warrantied by SRAM recently and has about 50 miles on it.
Overall the frame, shock, and fork are in great shape. The frame has a few cosmetic things (all cosmetic, no carbon damage) to call out:
Paint rubbed away where I ran too big of a tire on one ride--see picture
Scuff on the down-tube where the pump rubbed on the frame--see picture
A couple of other little nicks shown in the pictures
There is a nick on the underside down-tube where the Ride Wrap is scuffed, but saved the paint
A couple of scuffs on the paint of the fork are also shown in pictures
The dropper has a two little marks on the stanchion (picture), but works perfectly
This bike is the best descending and climbing bike I've ever owned, and I've had quite a few bikes over the years. All the hype is real. It is an over achiever on the descents. I had a Stumpy Evo with 150mm rear before this and this has much better rear support, stiffer, and feels like way more travel than the Stumpy has. You don't have to think about putting your weight forward--the bike geometry places you in this position. Pretty dreamy.
Many of the parts were moved over from my new ride (Forbidden Reya) and have 4 rides on them or are new

Poll: What Would You Change About Bike Geometry?
@Lt-Scallywag: agree. Once I went to a bike (and now my 2nd bike with longer stays) I really don't think about weighting the front wheel like I did before. The bike naturally places me in this position. All other bikes I had before these past two bikes I was constantly thinking about getting my body forward and weighting the front wheel.
