May 20, 2018Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt 750MSL Carbon
$2500 CADRocky Mountain Thunderbolt 750 MSL full carbon frame.
Thanks to Rocky's ride 9 adjustable geometry this is more than one bike.
Want an XC rocket? you got it. Put the chip in the steep setting to give a fast carving 68 degree head tube angle and a nice 460mm reach.
Want a playful trail bike to flow through the single track, pop off some hits and shoot down some fast descents? You can slack that puppy out for a flowy and stable ride.
Or set it in Neutral for a solid all rounder.
What ever the choice is you wont have any issue when the trail goes up. This bike climbs "with the speed of a lightning bolt hurled by Zues himself" (As said in a review by bikemag.com)
I've owned this bike since new its a perfect bike for any river valley trail. And at home riding Canmore, Banff, Hinton and Jasper trails.
The rocky thunderbolt is the bike of choice for the B.C Bike race. So if your familiar with that you'll know this bike is a true all rounder.
I have a few upgrades.
I will install a Brand new never used Fox Transfer dropper post. ($500 value) Same as the one pictured on the bike but its all stealth black.
Brand new installed main pivot enduro max bearing retro fit from Rocky Mountain.
It is currently a 1 by 10 set up with a new cassette chain and front chain ring, installed last fall. (I have all the stock parts to include)
Slightly wider tubless setup, specialized tires which I find make the bike a little more capable in the rough stuff.
The bike is well maintained. I just went through and greased all bushings.
It has recently been turned.
There are a few small rub marks but that's about it.
New this bike retailed for $4700

Rocky Mountain's New Thunderbolt - First Look
The 2018 alu is the old frame. It's just fresh paint on a 2017. Still has old geo and 120mm rear. I'm sure you'll see an updated alu frame next spring.
