@Mtbdialed: I get the “public square” idea, but even in real town squares, people could be asked to stop if they were disrupting everyone else. Free speech never meant freedom from consequences. Pinkbike isn’t a public utility or government space. Neither does it have the reach of one of the big social media platforms. It’s a club, and the hosts decide when someone’s behaviour stops the conversation from working. So, even town squares were moderated, and I assume no agents in black are knocking at DCA's door.

Please do not mix up freedom of speech with a right for reach. When one shouts in a theatre and is escorted out because of it then your freedom of speech is not violated but maybe not everyone has to listen to it.
I don’t know what got him banned but the last time I came across him was in the Loic Bruni post describing why he didn’t start. DCA posts went from Loic hoping Jackson having a mechanical to Loic hoping Jackson is hospitalised and is faking an injury (slightly exaggerated). I guess there was stuff said that is now deleted and what ultimately led to the ban, but I guess a site is allowed to removing contributors it considers to repeatedly stray discussions into a non-constructive back-and-forth. Not saying that discussions on PB are always constructive.
