UCI Announces Details for the 2024 Snow Bike World Championships in Châtel
I feel like we are seeing the history repeat, we like we had in the late 90s'/ early 2000's. In that period the sport grew exponentially and got really good grass root engagement and coverage, then you got a corporate boom and every novelty tv event under the sun got created. Then the whole industry crashed and it went back to small scale core events again.

The End of Intense Factory Racing Officially Announced
This has happened to all industries post covid and the subsequent reigning in of almost free money. Putting the blame squarely on discovery just isn’t correct. Not saying they have done wonders, but this would have happened either way.

Orange Factory Racing Announces it Won't be Returning in 2024
You can see it like that or you can just think I love riding bikes and ride your bike. None of this has any effect on your enjoyment of riding your bike. Im sure none of us as 10 years old riding around the park super stoked were getting upset because a few race team we have nothing to do with shut down. We were just stoked to be on our bikes, none of this changes you loving going for a ride at all

"Sad it Had to Come to an End" - Greg Minnaar Features on Santa Cruz's 'The Roller Door' Podcast
Brands like commencal or YT would not have had the influence and scale of growth they have had on the bike industry in the last decade if it l wasn’t for their race/fr teams. They would have been small niche brands that would have flown under the radar. Both brands had huge success YT with Gwin became the hottest property going around while he was on form, and Commencal with winning every race under the sun. It is the same with Santa Cruz they demand the cult following due to their sponsored riders etc. Do average mum and dads care who won what race when they buy little jimmy a new bike, no very few do l, but within the niche of high end bikers which those brands like Santa Cruz cater for people know the reputation earned through competition even if they don’t know results. And even if an average consumer doesn’t know They see someone riding a giant etc at the Olympics and they trust that brand makes a good product even if they dont Follow the sport .
