Video: They Came, It Snowed, They Conquered - FrostBike 2014
A properly setup fat tire bike with a set of 4.8" surly lou tires would have been able to go as fast or faster in those conditions. I have poached the local in town ski hill many times late in the evening while out pedaling around on the fat bike. Having spent the last 4 years riding up here in Alaska via fat bike all winter I would have found it hard to show up to something like that without one. I have even participated in several events like this one at Alyeska resort in the past aboard normal dh setup and while it was fun the fat bike would have absolutely offered an advantage. But as was mentioned above maybe rules didn't allow them.

Sick! That new banshee prime looks like it will shred quite nicely. Can't wait to get one this summer.
