I'm a little surprised by the negative comments here. As a former fighter and current rider I can honestly share that there are strong similarities between MTB and fighting. Both for me, and many others, are about the relationship with fear and striving to overcome it. I would argue that fighting is the original extreme sport. I have learned similar lessons from both. Obviously, in fighting one can harm their opponent and I have always felt bad for causing that harm. This eventually caused me to leave the sport. But, we all know what we risk. Some of the commenters here have no concept of the honor among fighters and how peaceful they actually are in their daily lives. How many of you who would never throw a punch use your words to harm the psyches of others every day?
