the year before his big crash at rampage he pulled off a 3rd i believe. if he didn't crash and break his leg he honestly probably could of got back on the podium with the run he was having. the year was the first time back sense his big crash. I can see why he was calling the win... after coming in third, then having a run that could of put him back on the podium the year after, if he didn't crash is probably why he was calling the win.
