This is just another questionable decision taken by Blue management and Alterra over the past year. Sadly, not surprised by this at all.. pretty sure their strategy is turning the village into a little premium outlet mall.

@Spiral23: Yes and No. 3D printing would be introduced in the rough form stage thereby reducing amount of material to be removed in roughing, semi and finish machining. It would reduce the cycle time for machining but would add another step prior to machining. 3D printing (sintering) is still extremely slow so it would inflate the end customer price of the bike. Yes, titanium powder is available for printing & sintering. The company I work for likely for used the material for that car.

I’m about as deep in the CNC machining industry as you can possibly get, career wise. This is just a novelty for people who make more money than they know what to do with. It’s interesting and kind of neat but it’s a bike and over engineered for what’s required our of it. I’d give a hard pass on both purchasing and investing.
