Video: Making a Hardtail From 4 Scrap Bikes
Mad that the sketchiest part of this is the Avid brakes! Top work!

First Ride: Starling Mini Murmur - Small But Mighty
Always love the comments when a starling is reviewed - it's peak pinkbike! FWIW I've recently set up my V2 murmur with adjustable shock mount in a similar way. Previously had it set up 160/160 with an ohlins coil on the rear, and it was great but still felt like a long legged trail bike rather than the enduro bike I wanted (now have a Spire for that side of things). However I loved the murmur as a trail bike so figured I would experiment with a short travel build. I managed to fit a 190x51 dbair IL from another bike I had and stuck a 130mm air shaft in my fox 36, some hunt Xc wheels and ground control tyres later and it's an absolute ripper! It weighs some amount of lbs (I don't care how many but certainly more than a bag of sugar) but it rides with such eagerness yet comfort that I love it. Geo is similar to the V3 above, although I think slightly slacker (64.5 ish) and maybe lower in the BB, but even with 170mm cranks it's been fine pedal strike wise and rips corners. I finally think I've got my ideal two bike quiver!

Privateer 141 P4 with Super Deluxe Ultimate Coil

$600 GBP
Time to say goodbye to my P4 141 (with a little more than 141 travel) with custom tuned rockshox super deluxe ultimate coil. I've owned this since new and it's been a really impressive solid bike. Ive run it with the super deluxe ultimate coil since day one, this was bought new from J-Tech and custom tuned for the bike, it's extremely plush yet supportive so you can really push on with confidence on this thing. The bike is in great condition but has some of the usual scuffs and scrapes, I added VHS slapper tape when originally building it up and this keeps it really quiet, it's started peeling in a few places but zip ties have helped it stay put. It could do with pivot bearings changing (feels smooth but the main pivots are definitely ready for a change), but it will come with a full set of replacement bearings from privateer, I've just not had time to fit them. Included with sale: - P4 141 frame - custom tuned super deluxe ultimate with EXT 500lb spring - Shock is 205x60 so has slightly longer stroke than stock giving somewhere around 147mm travel - headset (upper assembly is brand new nuke proof one, lower assembly is original privateer one and bearing is ok) - full replacement pivot bearing kit from privateer - spare hanger (I think I've got one somewhere) - 450lb nuke proof spring for shock I'm thinking around £600 but open to sensible offers. Based in Dollar, Scotland but would be happy to look at posting elsewhere and potentially travelling in Scotland if you have good riding nearby.

Fox 36 160mm performance GRIP damper 29"

$300 GBP
2018 Fox 36 performance, 29er fork, 160mm travel GRIP damper, 44mm offset Fork in great condition, a few scuffs to the lowers from running a mudhugger and the decals could do with a refresh (I have some stealth black ones that I will include in the sale if I can find them!) but the fork functions perfectly, I've owned this fork since new and although it's been well ridden it's been looked after. I always found the grip damper to be excellent, my new bike has a 36 with GRIP 2 and I've not quite got it feeling as good as this fork yet. The steerer is cut at 190mm as shown in the photos, it has a starnut and crown race for a FSA headset installed. Serviced about 9 months ago, with new dust wipers and hasn't had a huge amount of use since. Any questions then let me know. Happy to post but buyer will pay postage, most likely with Parcelforce (I'd estimate around £20.00). Cheers, Pete

Orbea Rallon XL frame with 160mm link

$875 GBP
After many happy adventures it's time to part with my 2018 XL Rallon with updated linkage to take it to 160mm and fox factory DPX2 shock. Looking for £900 ono. This frame has had all sorts of adventures and has some "beauty marks" to prove it, but it's been well looked after and was invisiframed since new. I did an aircan service on the shock a few months back and the damper was done about 12 months ago but hasn't had a great deal of mileage on it since thanks to Covid and having another bike. I've tried to show all the scuffs on the bike, the worst being in the paint on the chainstay near the rear dropout, some small chips around the chainstay yoke/main pivot and a chip to the invisiframe/paint on the underside of the downtube. Otherwise in excellent condition, no play in bearings as I replaced a few recently and she rides like a dream. Included with the frame will be: - A spare, used derailleur hanger (from before orbea made them of camembert) - headset (although the bearings are a little rough but it will get you going) - axle - little linkage preload tool - a few pivot bearings that I haven't needed to put in yet - gear and dropper outer cable (used but left in to help thread internal routing) - the original 150mm link Seat post not included but could be for a price, I also have the 160 fox 36 grip fork for sale soon (waiting on new decals) and will soon have a brand new hunt wheelset off my new bike when it arrives you're interested in a "rolling chassis" deal. Looking for £900 Ono for frame. Based in Edinburgh but happy to post at buyers expense. Any questions just ask. Listed on eBay as well.
