Pivot Switchblade for Cheap

$3500 USD
2017 PIVOT SWITCHBLADE 29er / size L $3500 firm/open to trade for complete Carbon Honzo MODEL 2017 Pivot Switchblade LARGE PRO XT/XTR 1x 29 FRAME Switchblade Carbon SHOCK Fox Factory Float DPS EVOL FORK FOX 36 Factory set at 160mm FIT4 - Boost HEADSET Pivot Precision Sealed Cartridge REAR DER XTR 11SPD GS FRONT DER N/A SHIFTERS XT 11 SPEED R BRAKES XT 8000 CRANKS XT 170mm Boost 30T & RACE FACE AEFFECT SL 175mm 30T included BAR Renthal Fatbar Aluminum 780 uncut. A rock must have kicked up, hit the water bottle screw and deformed the rivet (screw hole). I sent it Pivot to repair and they said it was completely fine, but could not be repaired. So, you cannot mount a water bottle underneath the downtube, only inside of the triangle. I would not advise mounting one there anyway as it is very low slung and prone to hitting things. The only other issue is that the rear triangle was replaced under crash warranty. I wasn’t even riding when this happened. A rider in front of me crashed on a rocky feature forcing me to walk. I slipped and my bike came down with me striking the drive side seat stay and cracking it. I paid $300 to have it replaced under warranty through Pivot, so the entire rear triangle is new including the bearings. Other than that, the bike is in terrific shape. NO major gouges or scratches. There are the expected and minor imperfections on the downtube from dirt/rock spray. I have put helicopter tape on potential wear points so it has and continues to be protected. I also installed the DW-Link protector. It’s coming up on shock maintenance soon. It has around 90 hours on the fork and shock. Fox recommends service every 125 hours. I do this myself and it’s not difficult at all, but you could also send it in to Fox or have it done at your local bike shop. The tires, grips, and saddle are fairly new. The tires are newer and the grips are not worn. Wheels are straight, no dents or dings, and I’ve never broken a spoke. REASON FOR SELLING: I just prefer riding my hardtail and my local terrain doesn’t warrant a Switchblade for my style of riding. I got my use out of it this last summer on a road trip to the Pacific Northwest, but other than that, I have more fun on my Kona Honzo. In order to enjoy this bike I have to drive to trails and I just don’t want to spend my time doing that. I enjoy riding from my front door and my trails are a lot more fun on my hardtail. EXTRAS/UPGRADES: Fox fork and shock volume spacers and part to return fork to 150mm travel (currently set at 160mm) All supplied pivot parts including 17mm bottom cup spacer and extra hardware Registered with Pivot and I will facilitate any warranty issues Upgraded stem, handlebar, seat, grips, and tires. Including original cranks. Including both 20mm and 30mm rise Renthal Fatbars Upgraded dropper to 150mm travel and installed the awesome Wolftooth remote PRICE: So I priced it to sell FAST, not because there is anything wrong with it. I don’t want a lot of hassle and I’m looking for a fast easy sell. Whoever gets this is getting an awesome deal. I paid $6,800 retail and I don’t even want to calculate how much the upgrades cost. Pivot just came out with an aluminium version and those start at $4000 with a lower part spec. So if you you’re in the market for a Carbon Switchblade you’re in luck. First $3,500 takes it. Will ship within the continent at buyer’s cost. Open to trade for complete Carbon Honzo. *I’ll be updating the post with more detailed photos soon. Thanks!

Richie Rude's Yeti SB6 Bike Check - EWS Round 5, Aspen-Snowmass
A lot of people are getting hung up on Rude choosing a medium bike, but there's much more to it than just reach. The reach is even less than stock (426mm) as you lengthen the fork. Also, the head angle gets slacker and the wheelbase grows. Pretty soon the wheelbase gets ridonkulous, so a large frame would be worse. With a 64/65 degree head angle it's harder to weight the front end necessitating a longer stem. I bet if he was riding a stock sb6c he'd be on a large, but he wants a slacker head angle paired with a reasonable wheelbase, so 60mm stem it is.
