@WhateverBikes: Bingo when you say "feels like im riding super fast" .. Exactly. XC bikes now have 120mm front and back and 29 inch wheels. Why exactly? Big wheels kills all the features on the trail, makes them easier, so you need more speed to get the fun. Meanwhile as you say, with smaller wiheels etc you get the same fun but at lower speed. Same goes for DH.Imagine we went back 26 inch wheels and shorter wheelbase, much lower speed and actually more fun lol.

My theory is correct, proved by this very movie. 29inch or bigger wheels removes track features, this old bike brings them out. Its a totally different track. Speed is down as well so its more safe.
