Sep 30, 2013Trek Slash 8 - 18.5" Enduro racing machine!
$1950 GBPSelling my beloved Trek Slash 8.
I bought this Bike in June 2012 from Obsession bikes in N. Vancouver and had the forks and shock serviced recently by the experts at suspensionwerx, N.Vancouver. Since moved to Glasgow and I only seem to ride my hardtail now.

This bike is an all out enduro racer -, it's so stable at speed, it is glued to the ground on sketchy corners and efficient on the ups as you'd expect too thanks to the DCRV tuning. Also good in the bike park and it climbs technical ascents better than my hardtail, but you've got to have the lungs and legs! I've completed some truly monster climbs on this bike.
I'm selling this bike as stock, but as a summary:
Trek Slash frame, adjustable head angle/bb height thanks to the 'mino link', 160mm rear travel and internal cable routing.
Fox TALAS 36 140-160mm travel forks, Fox Float DCRV (tuned by trek) rear
SRAM X9 gorupset with X0 rear mech and X7 front mech, avid elixr brakes
26" Bontrager rhythm wheelset
Reverb stealth dropper post
Never raced, certainly used and has scratches to show this but the price reflects the cosmetic blemishes.
The bike has many seasons of racing or weekend shredding left in it.

Video: Gwin, Minnaar and Atherton Pursuing Perfection - presented by Saint
PROTOUR - since when have Canadians really had a presence in the world stage? One win for Smith (which is awesome) isn't really equal to the long term presence that the brits have had. Wind your neck back in and give the brits the respect they deserve for being one of the strongest all round cycling nations at the moment.

Video: Cotic Bikes Presents - Got Soul?
I got soul!! Mine must be the only Cotic Soul (that I've seen) on the N.Shore! Seen a couple of Be-Fe's too. Would love to see more people riding the trails on HT's, you can ride all the same gnar, just a bit slower.

yeah, i kind of agree, this guy s the real deal and in fairness it's a great angle and a great vdeo. i just don't get the whole 'film yourself doing something average' (which by definition, most of us are) thing when you've nothing really interesting to report. I think i'm getting old and grouchy.

It's funny really, discussing here how to set up a camera to film yourself, but minimising the chances of neck injury. Is it that critical to film yourself riding that you'd consciously increase your risk neck injury?! It would surely be hard to ride your best with that thing strapped to your head?
I also get similarly similarly confused with people sliding down the blues while looking directly at a go pro mounted on a ski pole. Maybe if they concentrated on skiing, they'd graduate off of the blue runs. Exceptions being those that do shred AND film themselves, fair enough to them really.

Burger king steps, Chelmsford. Recognised it from a misspent youth of street riding as soon as I saw the video! Awesome!

"Nukeproof only came to market in late 2008"
Really? I remember them in the UK magazines in the 90's.
