Annie Ford Sets World Record for Descending the Most Vertical on a Bicycle
@onawalk: it’s always nice if an article makes sense - do you not care what you read ?

Antoine Vidal Breaks his Collarbone During Training
Just looking at that x-ray tells me that is going to need a plate - it'd heal way too short given the break.
Speaking from the experience of having broken my right clavicle twice - once in the middle which was allowed to heal in a sling (went pretty well) and once at the end nearest the humerus that was "left to heal as it may not need surgery" for 7 weeks before it became very clear surgery was necessary - that was nearly 2 months wasted.
If in doubt, go for surgery is my advice.

Five Things We (Sometimes) Miss About Older Bikes
The only one of those 5 things missing from my Geometron G1 with Manitou Mezzers is the derailleur guard.
I don’t miss that, or the other 4 things.

Short or Long-Travel: Which Is The Best All-Round MTB?
I remember many years ago (over 20) doing a similar tyre test between light Tioga DH tyres and heavier and grippier Michelin DH tyres and finding that the lighter tyres were faster but had me much closer to crashing - it really seemed to come down to how quickl I could accelerate the wheels (rotational weight being the key).
The test ended when the Tioga tyres slipped on a root and nearly spat me into an oak tree - as I was riding with recently cracked ribs that rather biased me toward the slower but safer Michelins...

First Look: Ibis Oso - Not Just an Electric Ripmo
@BenPea: Ah, the luck of the Irish. I have to say that regardless of cost if I'm gonna have to bust my ankle again I would be very happy to have same French surgeon screw it back together - wasn't cheap, but it was good.

First Look: Ibis Oso - Not Just an Electric Ripmo
@BenPea: I'm not resident, I was simply a tourist - and I do have a GHIC card and travel insurance, which saved me from having to personally cover all of that cost.
Perhaps I should have made that clear, but the point was that if you as a tourist (I was replying to a post where a US tourist was not charged) need treatment it can be very expensive.

@BenPea: I'm a British citizen, not EU any more (not my choice).
Interesting to see that people are downvoting my posts about costs - those are facts, not opinions. If you don't like facts because they conflict with your opinion you need to change the opinion, not the facts.

First Look: Ibis Oso - Not Just an Electric Ripmo
@Balgaroth: it included multiple x-rays, 2 operations and 9 days in hospital. I have no idea what it would have cost in the USA, but I do know it would have been free in the UK.
