Nice, better late than never.But this doesn't address the issue of only bad options in 10-speed drive train world. SRAM rear derailleurs are weak and if they manage to stay in one piece they wear out fast. Also Shimano triggers are not suitable for human anatomy and so remain useless. What we really would have needed is a 9-speed 11-40 cassette, so we can use Shimano Shadow+ derailleurs and superior SRAM triggers (9-speed ones work with the mentioned Shimano derailleurs). The way I see it UCI can't sanction an Enduro event since they have not recognized this race format, no rules or races for it. They have XC, DH, roadies, BMX and so on. But no MTB Enduro. EMBA can sanction enduro events and I think they have no problem with Enduro events popping up everywhere... Haven't heard or seen UCI being interested about MTB orienteering. They have their World champioships and National Championships, but nothing to do with UCI. They have their own governing body. MTB orienteering shows UCI does not own everything where bicycles are included. And then there is the triathlon and what else. The same thinking can be applied to MTB Enduro, Freeride, slopesstyle etc.

"Fred Glo, the man who first called a race an enduro says simply," This issue keeps touted so much it needs to be corrected. In Finland we had first nation wide MTB-Enduro Cup in 1996. Has been raced every year since then. First Enduro races were held few years earlier.
