COMMENCAL ABSOULT SX SLOPE STYLE, 9 SPEED, LONG, NEAR NEW

$1150 GBP
Commencal Absolut SX slope style / free ride bike, SIZE: LONG, 9 speed custom build project with top spec components. Near New condition! Would make a great free ride / mini DH bike for adults, or a capable trail centre / DH bike for the shorter rider or youngster starting out. I'm 6' 2" and still find it easy to ride on most trails! Its nimble, light yet solid and will handle all but the roughest of DH trails. With the geared set up it can be pedalled up hill too! Or changed into a single speed bike for dirt jumping: as you like. £1,150 (ono) as its in great condition; many main parts are almost new. No dents or large scratches. NO marks at all on sanctions of forks or shock! Only a few small wear marks to the frame / fork lowers, as you would expect to get on a used MTB bike, most of these are from being transported on my car rack. I have only ridden this bike approx 10 times! All in fully working condition. Only selling as I don't get the time to use it anymore as my family has expanded recently. To build up a new bike with this spec it would cost you over £3,600!!! Spec; Absolut SX VIP frame kit (long size), 140mm travel, FOX float R shock with pro-pedal (both single speed and geared drop outs included) RRP £1500 (nearly new only 10 rides) Rock Shox Argyle RCT, 2011, 140mm travel fork (dual air, compression & motion control, 20mm maxel lite) RRP £640 (near new; only 6 rides) Shimano SLX single ring, 36 tooth, crank set £155 (new: only 3 rides) Diety 50mm rise, 750mm length bars, RRP £45 (near new only 6 rides) Thompson inline seat post RRP £80 (near new only 6 rides) Susperstar seat clamp RRP £8 (new only 3 rides) Spank Tweet Tweet dirt jumper saddle RRP £40 (near new only 6 rides) E-thirteen SRS chain device RRP £110 (nearly new 10 rides) E-thirteen 36 t bash ring RRP £40 (used) Straitline wedge stem 65mm reach. Total Build cost RRP: £3643!!! I will also include the unused drop out adaptors that came with the frame kit should you wish to change the bike to a single speed. Likewise the original Commencal saddle and seat post. I have owned all parts of this bike from new. Those listed as "used" have come off another bike of mine to facilitate this build and as such are more used. The other parts listed have seen very little use. Never crashed, never raced, never jumped high or ridden in heavy wet conditions and only been ridding on medium grade (orange & red) trails at Glentress. Professionally built and serviced. Specialized Command Post - Review
OK so i don't normally post negative reviews on products but my experience of dealing with specialized and there command post has left me no option but to warn others. I used to be a specialized retailer working in my local bike store. during this time i have sold a number of command posts and have seen an almost equal number being sent back to the UK supplier for specialized. i bought my post in late 2009 at the start of winter. did int really use it till the following spring when on the second ride i notice it wouldn't go into the lower position easily. managed with applied force to get it to lower only for it to return to full extension, beasting me in the balls when going over rough ground. the air pressure had all but go when i got home and reassessed what had gone wrong. the next ride the post wouldn't drop at all, half way round my trail center. i returned it to my place of work who sent it to specialized UK. they informed me that i must have been landing on it too hard and i had misused it so the 2 year warranty was invalidated! i had not be using it in this manner; having ridden only xc trails, and can only assume it broke when i was trying to get it to go down. in the end i had to pay £55 to them to get it fixed after riding it only twice and shelling out £250 for this. really unimpressed with specialized and wouldn't have ever thought i would say that being an ex-seller of there bike etc. Def would not recommend these. the post works now to an extent, but still leaks air and is temperamental when trying to get it to stay down. This is not an isolated case from other reviews i have read on the net and those posts i previously had returned on behalf of other customers. DON'T BUY THIS POST! get a gravity dropper instead or the new rock shox re-verb post.
