@FoxRedLabs I have been looking for a trail bike as I feel like I am getting too old and slow to haul my enduro rig everywhere. How are you liking your Shadowcat? I am looking at the pivot as well as the older Mojo 4.

Yeah I miss having a more independent media option. I feel like if Bike Mag did this article back when they were still a magazine, it would be all about the good and bad of each wheel size. It would be trying to convince us that big wheels are always better. Although in Jesse's defense, it seems like she likes the bigger wheel bc it makes trails easier and she can go faster.

Read any recent review of a 27.5 bike. The reviewer will go on and on about how quick and fun the bike is, and how they just forgot how much fun smaller wheels are. Then they will mention that the bike gets hung up a little more on holes and therefore it is a little slower. Since everyone here makes their living racing bikes, all we care about is which one will get me down the hill faster, so it just doesn't matter that smaller wheels are more fun, jump easier, are lighter, stiffer, manual easier and turn faster. (I am 5'8", most of my bikes are 26, but I did just get my first 27.5" bike. My 5'4" 110lb partner prefers 27.5 wheels since they are easier for her to handle, and are lower to the ground. She doesn't race, so she doesn't give a damn about easier rollover.)

26" FORK FOR YOUR STAB. A few years ago a Marzocchi Z1 dirt jumper fork was just a copy of a Fox 36 in 26" so it would take up to a 170mm airspring. I have one set up that way for my Banshee Rune v3 and it is great. It also has a Grip 2 damper though. Not sure if that will work for your Stab or not.
