Entries are now live for the 2012 Halo British Downhill Series. This is your chance to enter the number one National Series in the World and rub tyres (if you're fast enough) with the likes of Steve Peat, Danny Hart, Gee Atherton, Brendan Fairclough, Marc Beaumont, Josh Bryceland and Alex Bond, as well as some other big international names that have already confirmed.

The entire 2011 series sold out in less than two days based on the requirement of a single British Cycling point to enter. For 2012 we have raised the entry criteria to 100 B.C points, as well as adding an extra round to the racing calendar. If you are an international rider wanting to enter please drop me an e-mail to si@descent-gear.com. Make sure you finish in the top half of your category back home and I'll grant you an entry!

It nice to race it, I've been racing BDS since 2008 to 2011. However problem is cost that I am not able keep paying it. But if you know yourself are quick enough and got good result and it worthing do it as you get a good result on national. Spend wisely

I think what he means is if your fast enough it's worth paying the money for?
  • 2 0
i understood it haha.. what hes saying is; if your quick enough and you think you will get good results its worth entering.
  • 2 0
yeah he does, its not just the cost of the races but the license too, and alot of the tracks you can race for alot less and not have to have a license.
  • 2 0
I understood because that is Vivian Jones and you richierocket should show a little bit more respect, and if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
  • 2 0
 yeah, everybody loves Viv.

The series is already half full in less than 2 hours! There was me thinking raising the points from 1BC point to 100BC points was going to make it a quiet day!

..always been a rich kids sport, but that price is a bit steep. Is there free booze or something?
  • 2 0
is getting extreme though!! how about simpler races that actually do what we want..a good uplift and timed runs with a good level of riders to race..dont need all the fancy stuff which is hiking the prices up!!

You think 70 pounds is expensive? To enter a National round in Australia, it costs $200, and I don't think the prize money is anywhere near as big as that.
  • 8 0
wow, my wallets gonna hate me.

  • 1 0
As much as i love racing it's gotten waaaay to expensive these days! Believe it or not it wasn't long ago when uplifts costed £10 for a full day, not £25!
  • 2 0
mmmm......a national here in spain is 25 euros and its cheaper for me to do a ixs round or nissan cup than a bds and to top it of theres no REFUND if weather is bad and not even a full refund with 14 days notice wow!!! i got a full refund when i foned the organization here on the day of the event as much as i really wanted to do fort bill this year european round it is

  • 1 0
bds will provide good racing, it always does - keep up the good work. Shame about the points system this year but i suppose thats just the way it is. 70 quid isn't that bad, regionals are costing 60 this year.
  • 3 0
cant wait to see danny's times now he has a expectation to live up too
  • 6 1
hopefully he attends more than 1 round like he did last year, i know its not often the rider's choice but nonetheless i feel the top level Pro rider attendance of last year's season was quite low.
  • 2 1
Having just checked it seems only the last round had a particularly low number of top elites racing, however people like the athertons, hart and beaumont add a lot of competitiveness to the racing and without them you always wonder how the results could have ended up .
  • 1 0
The one round, National Champs i think, was around the same time as crankworks so many where over there. But yeh, would be good to see more of them at more then one or two races.
  • 1 0
Not checked fully who's in the rounds yet, shall take a gander now
  • 1 0
And the athertons where in new zealand for the first round.......
  • 2 0
Its going to be a good season Smile

why are all the comments in italics?
  • 7 0
Because the editor forgot to close an i > tag at the end of the caption of the last image, so the rest of the page (everything after the article) is in italics. Big Grin
  • 1 1
 that's a good question

 ...
  • 1 0
 All fixed now.
  • 1 0
 owww it was fun
  • 1 1
Two races in England..sweet. Now you don't actually have to leave the country to go and race!
  • 2 0
In all fairness it's a British series, so there were no rounds out of the region of the race..... that's like complaining you have to leave England to race the European series!
  • 1 0
A BDS at Bringewood?!?!?!?! I hope there building a new track then!
