Mar 5, 2025Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon EVO
$1500 USDSingle owner and well cared for. Almost every part has been replaced in the time I have owned it.
Frame: Size XL. Carbon front triangle with aluminum chain- and seat-stays. External cable routing (++ for the home mechanic!) All of the frame pivot bearings have been replaced within the last 2 years.
Fork: Fox 34 Performance series, 140mm, GRIP damper, non-boost (15x100). Purchased new in Nov. 2022.
Shock: Fox DPS Performance series, 190x45. Purchased new and installed Feb. 2025. Has never been ridden. Includes a brand new Bike Yoke shock adapter/yoke which is necessary since the original shock did not have a standard eyelet on one end. (see https://bikeyoke.com/en/yoke-sj01/sj01)
Seat post: PNW Cascade 150mm dropper with PNW Loam remote lever. Purchased new sometime in the last 3 years, not sure exactly when. (see https://www.pnwcomponents.com/collections/shop-all-droppers/products/cascade-dropper-post-125mm-travel-external-routing-30-9-31-6mm-diameters) Dropper cable and housing replaced in January 2025.
Wheelset: Ibis 938, 29in, 34mm internal width rims, Ibis-branded hubs. Wide rims work best with modern high volume tires. The rear rim has been replaced within the last year, the new rear rim is an Ibis Blk Brd Send II. (see https://www.ibiscycles.com/wheels) The rear hub bearings were replaced about 2 years ago. >>> NOTE: The hubs (and frame) are NON-BOOST, i.e. 15x100 front, 12x142 rear.
Drivetrain: SRAM GX Eagle shifter and GX Eagle rear derailleur. X01 Eagle chain installed new in January 2025. SRAM NX Eagle cassette. (Eagle NX cassettes use the Shimano HG freehub whereas GX and higher series cassettes require the SRAM XD freehub. If you prefer to run the GX or higher cassette, Ibis sells the XD freehub for $70.) Shift cable and housing replaced within the last year.
Brakes: Avid X0 Trail 4 piston calipers with SRAM Code R levers. (One of the original Avid levers broke so I replaced both with Code R's. The calipers use the same brake pads as the SRAM Guide calipers.) SRAM Centerline rotors, 200mm front, 180mm rear.
Bottom Bracket: Wheels Manufacturing "thread fit" (see https://wheelsmfg.com/bottom-brackets/pf30/pf30-abec-3-bb-black.html) The frame accepts press-fit PF30 bottom brackets. The "thread fit" BB has two halves that press into the frame but thread together to make a solid creak-free interface between the frame and BB. The drive side bearing was replaced within the last year.
Handle bar: Revin carbon fiber, 800mm
Stem: Race Face Turbine 50mm.
Tires: Specialized Eliminator front, Specialized Butcher rear. Plenty of life left in both. (Yes I know that this is backward of the normal pairing; but the Eliminator is a 2.6 and the Butcher is a 2.4 and the Butcher fits between the stays with a little more clearance.)
Pedals: None. I have some SPDs and some cheap flats you can use for the test ride.
Scratches: Yes, but not as much as you might expect. I have had mastic tape over the stays where my heels occasionally rub so those are still clean under the tape. The carbon front triangle is remarkably clean. The most visible scratches are on the inside of the stays.
