@Canadmos: Yeah, turns out the chin-bar doesn't protect against rocks getting shoved through the face opening. Just because we call them "full-face" helmets doesn't mean they protect your whole face! On a side note, a friend of mine broke his nose in a motorcycle crash when his fully enclosed helmet got shoved / rotated down in a awkward way so the top of the face opening hit the bridge of his nose. Goes to show even a fully closed helmet can't save you from everything when you're going fast enough!

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather...? Rampage Edition
Several of these questions are the equivalent of choosing between almost certain death or suffering the rest of my life. I've had a good life... I'll roll the dice on the canyon gap rather than talking like a pirate or having to ride one type of crappy bike the rest of my life. Although I did choose to live without my pinky rather than dying on the flip drop.

I'm worried about the beam shape causing it to be too stiff in the middle. Most saddles flex in between the rail attachment points, which accounts for a lot of the comfort they provide on long rides. I once had a saddle on a road bike that kind of "bottomed out" on the top of the post, and therefore didn't provide this tiny "suspension" benefit, and it was very noticeably uncomfortable on any rides over about 30 minutes.

Finally! Something to make single-speeding as expensive as buying a whole 12-speed drivetrain. Here I thought half the reason to single-speed was to save money... What's wrong with some cheap-ass spacers and a used clutch derailleur? Probably performs exactly the same. 26 clicks of damping adjustment? Gimme a break.
