Video: Wyn TV - EWS Tweed Valley 2022
Both Ritchie and Martin were crazy fast as juniors in DH. Maes has done well in some one-off DH races since then, but yeah, definitely need to get Ritchie on a DH bike at some point.

The European Bike Project: A Floating Idler Frame & 4 Other Exciting Products from Small European Manufacturers - April 2022
I think the stretch you're seeing is more due to the massively rearward axle path than it is from the idler itself, but it does seem very odd that the idler is nowhere near the instant center of rotation... I thought the whole point of the idler pulley was to reduce or remove the chain growth associated with high pivot bikes. This design doesn't seem to do that at all. It looks like it would have a similar amount of pedal feedback as a high pivot bike with no idler.

Video: Who's Looking Fast in Lourdes? - Up To Speed with Ben Cathro
I find it funny that this discusssion revolves around fashion trends rather than what the teams actually care about: winning races. Fact is that tight clothing is faster in a speed discipline like DH... like a second or more off your time over the course of a 4 minute race. Even Shawn Palmer, the guy who is credited with bringing moto gear to DH racing admitted that he would have won world champs back in '96, if he was wearing spandex, but he wasn't willing to "dress like a figure skater" (his words, not mine)... sounds like he was the one who was a lot more concerned about fashion than the guy who won the race wearing lycra (Vouilloz, of course). If anything, the teams have been using fashion trends as an excuse to wear tighter and tighter clothing over the last 5 or 6 years in order to give themselves a advantage in the race... but of course now everyone's wearing the same shit anyway, so it doesn't matter. Specialized even put Bruni in a wind tunnel if I remember correctly.

Video: A Full Highlights Show From Downhill Southeast Round 1
This highlights show is better than the coverage of a lot of "top level" events throughout the world. Reminds me a lot of the old RacerTV coverage of GNCC moto events. Also, it's awesome to see this series expand to six rounds, they're definitely doing something right.

Video: Kieran Reilly Lands a World's First Triple Flair on BMX
@tim-from-pa: Yeah, I was channeling Ozzy Man there. @dirtyburger: Out of the podcast presenters, I identify most with Kaz. I think his point in saying that stuff on the podcast is that these tricks are so next level that they're not even relatable for people who are otherwise dedicated and skilled mountain bikers (I realize this particular video is BMX, but whatever). Slopestyle MTB is like a completely different sport these days. I've been mountain biking for 18 years and yet my skills probably have more in common with a professional speed skater than with a top level FMB slopestyle rider (mostly kidding, but that's what it feels like when I can't even watch a slopestyle trick in slow-motion and figure out what's going or what the name of that trick might be).
