I was never a fan of the old stinky's, but recently Kona has really stepped it up. I have a 2012 Operator that i rode and raced on last season and i have to say, it is an awesome bike! Geometry feels spot on and is nice and versitile. 16.8'' chainstays whip around corners easily, nice low slug toptube give lots of stand over room, and the 64 degree head angle is great for all round riding. It's not so slack that is feel wallowy and slow on flatter terain, yet is still slack enough to provide great stablility on high speed steeps. Another thing i really appreciate is the durability of the frame as well. The large pivots are stiff and are still running smooth as butter after a long season of abuse. There are a few small dents in the frame, but it seems like all aluminium DH bikes do that these days. I find that Kona's are a teriffic value too. They are often hundereds, if not one thousand dollars less than other bikes with a similar spec. They don't pantent crap marketing technologies like "FSR" that makes a bike that rides just as good as a kona cost way more. I love that kona is way more concerned with function as opposed to fashion. Keep up the good work Kona!!!

@ rexbikes- I agree, a simulated race looks like lots of fun, but if you have ever seen this group first hand, the group dynamic is 0% fun/ enjoyment, and 100% we're hear to win/ "I'm better than you" attitude/ arrogance/ cockiness. That's just how I feel about C4.

I agree, the attitude's gotta go. It's mountain biking, not a freakin' military boot camp! Keep it fun!

I kind of miss the old ladder bridge and skinny days of years gone by.... so i would have to say that old school freeride style is going out the door ,although not gone completely. Everything now days is all trendy dirt jumping and super smooth jumps trails, which isn't a bad thing but i still miss some of the old skinnies and gnar.
