Throwback Thursday: EWS #1, Punta Ala - A Decade Later
The organizer shelled out around 50k euro to sponsor the event. Most likely that price is much higher now.

Dainese Release Revamped Trail Skins Protection Line
I had the first version and it was great. They started ripping at the seams so I bought a second pair. These things ripped apart on the 2nd ride. Whatever they did with the manufacturing process it damaged the quality. I hope that this version fixes this problem once and for all, including the crappy velcro.

May 3, 2020Santa Cruz nomad 2 alu xl yellow
$1150 EURSelling my 2010 Santa Cruz Nomad 2. Original owner. Ridden once since 2016.
Frame: 2010 Santa Cruz Nomad 2
- The frame has the usual signs of wear
- One minor dent on the right chain stay, visible in the pictures
- The ISCG tabs are bent from a nasty chain suck back in 2010, visible in the pictures. I have shown them to Nick Anderson (the designer of the Nomad) back in 2012 when I met the Syndicate and he said it's fine. I have ridden it like that since then with no issues
- Ghetto stealth routing (hole in the frame) for an internal dropper post, visible in the pictures
- All bearings checked, lubed and replaced when required by Bagnoli Bike in Castiglione della Pescaia
Shock: 2010/2012 Fox DHX RC4 165 mm
- Original body but reservoir replaced by Fox in 2012
- Original Foxshox spring 450x2.80
Fork: 2013 Fox Float Fit 36 RC2 tapered 180mm
- One slight scuff on right stanchion, visible in pictures
- Serviced in 2017, oil changed with new seals, ridden once since then (a month ago)
- Best fork I have ever used
Wheels: 2013 Light bicycle hooked Carbon rims on hope pro 2 hubs
- Rear wheel is scuffed up but nothing major
- The front has a delamination of the cosmetic weave to the carbon that I tried to show in the pictures. This was fairly common for the early light bicycle rims, had the same happen on another set, as well as a buddy of mine. The other wheel set I had fixed (around 100 euro I think) but this set I have ridden like this for a long time.
Cranks: 2010 Truvativ Noir Carbon 175mm
Handlebars: 2013 Answer ProTaper Carbon bar 720 mm
Brakes: 2014 XT M785 Brakes
- 203mm front, 180mm back
Dropper Post: 2011 Rockshox reverb 150mm
- Needs servicing since spongy
Stem: Funn Funnduro 45mm
- It is the only stem that fits (that I know of) due to the 30mm stack height on account of the short steerer tube of the fork
Headset: Canecreak 1,5 to 1,125 reducer
Shiffters: 2013 Shimano 1x10 XTR
Derailler: 2014 Zee medium cage
Cassette: 2015 XT Shimano plus Hope 1x10 extender
Chain Ring: 2016 Renthal 1x10
Bottom Bracket: 2016 Truvativ
Seat: 2017 Specialized Henge
Tires: Magic Mary and Hans Dampf
Pedals: 2012 Sunline
- Perfect bearings, incredible pedals

The frame has around 2000 - 3000 km on it. It's a great enduro or a bike park bike but it has been used so it comes with issues, which I've listed above. It has been lying around and gathering dust and even though it holds a lot of sentimental value it needs to go since I have 4 other bikes.
I now live in Aosta, Italy and could deliver the bike to the surrounding bike parks, La Thuile, Pila, Monte Rossa or Cervinia
