The thing is, that Martin Söderström is wrong about the Status having shorter chain stays. Look at the bike specs and you'll notice that the Status has 426 mm while the Demo 8 has 421 mm. Thank's to Jon Bokrantz being the first to point this out over at the discussion on Vital.
