Ask Us Anything: DVO Suspension - Finished
A lot of enduro forks come with Digressive damping nowadays by preloading the shim stack, even in some rebound circuits. Other known tuning brands tend to replace them with linear damping profiles. I always imagine that digressive damping work better for chunky natural trails, while linear works better for freeride/bikepark. Which damping profile would YOU assign to which riding style?

The Tuesday Tune Ep 14: Myth Busting
The RC has a LSC adjuster (needle), just like the small small dial on top of the RCT3. The RCT3 also has the pedal switch with does the following: In open mode, it doesn't doe anything In pedal mode it closes that needle port with a sleeve, and starts preloading the shim stack. In lockout mode, it increases the shim stack preload, therefore increasing platform. Another difference is that most RC versions of the Pike have a wayyyy stiffer shim stack. If you would replace it with the shim stack from an RCT3, it would feel identical to the "Open" mode of the RCT3 damper. There is a MTBR thread somewhere that discusses these tuning options.

That's a very new looking Monarch rear shock with blackbox label... looks like a high-volume eyelet, just like Fox has been using as of late.

First Ride - SRAM X1 Drivetrain
I find most of the prices reasonable, except for that damn cassette! I understood why the XX1 and XO1 cassettes were so expensive (XO1=$399), but when you start stamping and pinning the cogs, I expect it should be a WHOLE lot cheaper than the $313 they are going to sell them for!
