Video: How To Ride Until You're 70 & Beyond with Ben Plenge from the Strength Factory
@MTB-Strength-Factory: ....well that may be a good thing? Lower testosterone? Great video you have done there...nice idea and really nicely executed. an important topic as the population ages. Today on the trail I stopped to help someone with a damaged chain (finally found my chain splitter in the depths of my pack) and one of the pack was a great woman in her late fifties - previously an ultra runner but then diagnosed with heart failure and has a de-fib - but this also talks to her e-bike so that as her heart rate increases, the bike kicks in with more power. Nice.

excellent! Small nag...The soundtrack is exhausting...like the shorts of the early 2000s....phew.... The section ravaged by fire is interesting...I'd like to know more about how things are regenerating; what species are favoured by fire clearance etc

watch again the videos of yourself Aimi. You are fast. But the videos show you don't collapse into your bike after jumps...it must certainly mean that you are physically strong and still operating well within your envelope. That means there's more speed in there. You are fast but head stuff can unlock a lot MORE speed. And aggressive balance. Goldstone's bike follows him down the hill. Literally. He puts his body where he wants it to go, and he is so ON the bike that he is dragging it after him. It exactly the same in skiing. Put the body where you want to go. You are not 'riding a bike'. You are throwing yourself in the direction of travel and the bike follows. Hence the description everyone has of Goldstone: 'dancing down the hill'. This season you had PACE. Off season head stuff as Cathro says and you will have MUCH PACE.

Video: 16 Great Years of Greg Minnaar & The Santa Cruz Syndicate
Hmmmm - I watched GM get more and more frustrated as he experienced rear flat after rear flat, race after race, this season. I was astonished that they did not find a remedy. Once in practice, normal. Twice in practice, frustrating. Once in a race - when few others were flatting....infuriating. Twice in races...something not right at all.

@skyroach: ah…V brakes do work… Late 80s: cantilevers and U brakes - the ‘Terrifying Era’ Early 90s: handmade cants like Critical Racing and Pauls - the ‘No-so-terrifying but very scary Era’ Mid 90s: XT V brakes with XTR levers - the ‘Much improved but still occasionally mighty scary Era’ Early 2000s: Second gen non experimental hydro discs - the ‘I can actually slow down in the wet on a slope Era’ 2000s on: Hope, SRAM, Big S, Formula - ‘the I can stop, anytime, anywhere, Era’ I have driven the Mulsanne Straight in a Renault 4. I’d rather be in a prototype.
