Opinion: Handlebar Width is the Most Overlooked Element of Mountain Bike Fit
Interesting article and interesting comments. The one thing I get from it all, which has pretty much always been my thought is that, bike set up is a personal thing. Im 183cm and ride an XL Deviate Claymore and a XXL Amflow. Both in theory are too big for me but they both are the best feeling bike size I have had in a long time. I had a Dreadnaught and Meta Power ebike that I purchased based on their size charts and both felt too small for me and I never really enjoyed riding either of them. Now that I am on bikes that are in theory too large for me and add the fact that I run Spank bars that are 820mm wide, I have never felt more comfortable on my bikes. Climbing, cornering, modest jumps and drops (I'm old), rough stuff, it all feels balanced and controlled. I don't think I've enjoyed riding as much as I do now on bikes that just feel right for me. Even with road riders, there is no real right and wrong. If you look at some of their seat heights, they just don't look right with a very distinct bend at the knee which is far lower than the 'ideal seat height' Without being ridiculous about your bike size and bar width etc, it just seems to come down to what feels 'right for you'. If it works for you, get out there and enjoy yourself. Life's good.

Is It Selfish to Want to Watch Your Heroes? Ben Cathro Tackles the World Cup's Deadliest Rule
Each race is an individual race. For those individual races you get points based on where you finished. You don't get points for Q2 because you are getting a second chance for whatever reason, same as every other rider in Q2, to actually get to ride in the final. The season is about having X number of races and at the end of it all we have a series winner, the most consistent over all the races. You can win the overall and not win an individual race, it's recognition for the most consistent rider, not a popularity contest. No protection affords every rider the same opportunity to make finals and a mechanical for a popular rider is no different to one for a lesser known rider/smaller budget rider. You are competing on a more even playing field not one driven by popularity or budget size. The cost to enter a World Cup round is high but it's not cheap for a privateer or smaller budget team either. I think the new format gives everyone the same opportunity because they are all making/not making finals under the same conditions.

Video: Elite Women's Winning Run from the Loudenvielle DH World Cup
This run was a demonstration of precision! Was there anything close to what you would call a mistake....... Been a big fan since first seeing her ride as a junior and it's great to see her looking so happy and relaxed. The bike, the team behind the scenes and the other riders in the team all look to be the perfect fit for her.

Pinkbike Poll: Have You Upgraded Your Handlebar?
Spank Spike 35 Vibrocore bars in all of our bikes. I put a set of Vibrocore bars in a mates bike but never told him about them having a foam inside. He noticed the change in feel first ride and asked 'What have you done to my bike, it feels so different'

I see they're sticking with those lime green course marker poles. Still can't fathom why they didn't make them a fluro pink or orange. It doesn't seem to stand out much to me, unless it's better in person from a riders perspective. Pretty sure last season they were putting up tape for the whole XC course where speeds are generally lower rather than bombing down a hill at speed........ Bring back the tape.
