Why do you think being a member of the mountain bike community makes people too moral to enjoy the other recreational activities that people thoroughly enjoy? We are all just passionate for outdoor recreation and I don't think owning an expensive mountain bike has any connection with shying away from other activities, regardless of how they are fuelled. Of course, be conscious of your carbon footprint where you can, but this can be done adjacent to enjoying your hard-earned free time.

Two things to note here, since I work in the heli industry and know they're not out to intentionally burn holes in the sky. 1) without alternative use for helicopters like Heli-tourism, a lot of the time business would not be viable for aircraft and other resources to be available at scale for essential operations like wildfire fighting, SAR, etc. Helicopter companies are private entities that need to make enough in order to fund their high overhead business which in turn makes them available for public resource requests like the above. 2) from the website: "As a 100% Carbon Offset company since 2018, Blackcomb Helicopters//AlpX offsets the emissions from your trip with us. This includes emissions created by your flight, shuttle, and our base of operations. If you would like to further reduce your footprint by doubling your contribution, we invite you to do so during checkout. Donations will go towards the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Return trip drive from Vancouver: .03 tCO2e/vehicle Flight to trail: .02 CO2e/person Total: .05 tCO2e " Looks like it's basically saying your drive from Vancouver to Whistler is more emissions than this flight. This flight is likely a once-in-a-lifetime thing for a small number of people, but there's a looot of people driving to Whis every weekend to rip the bike park. Just sayin.
