My hot take: People who ride flats started out riding them only to be cool and are now too dug in/used to it to change over to better performing clips

I may get flamed, but I am so pro this idea, it is not even funny. My personal opinion is that frame manufacturers who refuse to add mullet flip chips because it "compromises the kinematics too much" are full of themselves. My Madonna R is rides super well in both positions.

Results: Alex Marin & Paz Gallo Claim Victory at Red Bull Stuttgart Cerro Abajo 2026
@amonas: at the very least it’s up in the air. My comment is accurate if I had hedged it a bit better but it’s notable that it’s not a slam dunk to continue. I do believe th weather delay screwing rb out of a broadcast is a sticking point in negotiations. Im curious why they would launch a race series if the second biggest downhill series was a lock to come back.

@jamisonr: I’m not 100% sure but this is what maydenna bike park replied to me on a recent comment when they announced a race on the hardline course. “ Our contract with Red Bull ran through to 2026. We’ve been asked to direct any enquiries about Hardline straight to Red Bull.” My guess is maybe they’re negotiating how it works with weather issues and liability therein and it’s not over but up in the air.
