The reason of their often servicing is to keep the suspension and bike at the same best performance level, to which the rider is mostly used to. At their riding speeds every inch counts,so they try to achieve the same bike performance at every single run. Difference between regular service and 6months service- noticeable, and in World Cup that word means seconds...

Rémy Métailler Speeds Up The Whistler Mountain Bike Park - Video
Remy stated in the past that he has a very hard problem with arm pump and carpal tunnel, unable to ride at race pace for more than a minute and a half. This is a terrible issue and even with surgery, it can not get away on 100%. He probably still has that problem, which might be the reason he does not participate into any races.
