 You should learn the slingshot technique, I don't race 4X but live down the road from the local BMX and believe me it is sooo much more efficient and much faster. Because you have gears you'll be able to shift into the perfect gear (decided by you) and will have a leading edge on all others. I noticed you sat at the gate and when the gate snapped you struggled to get the speed and momentum to leave the gate ahead of everybody.  change up the songs mate haha. and u cant really do sling shot on random if thats how yall run them. also start in a low gear then change pedaling down.. start in between3-5 depending on the spread of ur cassette
