First test of my cable cam. More in-depth testing coming soon.

Just a little update on the cable cam for those that are interested. The rig is much smoother and is completely silent after we bought some thicker nylon rope (which fits in the pulleys better), and we bought 50m of it which will enable us to do runs almost twice as long as we could with the old rope. The rig hasn't been used to film our MTB movie, 2WO FO4R ZER0 yet, but we hope to use it late autumn and winter this year for some awesome shots. Stay tuned for more info!

dude this is brilliant! just spray some teflon on those squeaky wheels and you'll be fine!

I did spray some WD-40 on the pulleys and changed the rope (to something thicker, which actually fits the pulleys), and the noise stopped immediately.

Can you post a tutorial on how you made it?, what kind of pulleys you used etc? Looks sweet. Would love to film fly by wire shots. Cheers

 Thanks Smile

I'll definately think about making a video about it. I'm completely redesigning it within the next month or two so I guess I'd probably make it then.

Thanks man. That one had a few flaws with it, so I might start building v2 soon in time for the rest of the filming for the movie.

Should build a kick ass pump track in your back yard.

Yeah I wish I could. I have a small track between some trees on the side of the garden (wasn't in the vid). I really wanted to build a pump track but we're moving house in just under 6 months so I can't really start now. Frown
