I too have heard about the 960, that's what mine was set on when I got it. and so I've just left it there. the upsidedown mode lets you rotate the angle further from your chest, and had I thought more about it, I think it would have come out pretty well. I'm going to try again with more angle...

depending on which camera you have, 1080 narrows the frame, so putting it in 960 would make it wider, allowing for more view in the frame. but if you have the hero2 in the 1080 mode it retains the full wide angle.

960 gives a crappy looking feel to it. 4:3 instead of 16:9. Like adam said, if you have the hero2 put it in 1080, or 720p 60fps, so If you want to make slow-mo or whatever it's smoother.

Definitely shows your speed better than the previous vids. It will be hard to shoot an entire video with the chesty on a trail ride though unless you adjust the angle when you transition from the descents to the ascents. I think when I used mine for DH I would have about a 45* angle in the upside down mode. That showed my bar and more of the trail. If you have the vented helmet strap you can mount it anywhere on your frame forwards or backwards. Makes for some cool shots.

I'll definitely try that. I didn't know the vented helmet strap was what folks were using for those interesting angles. thanks for the tip.

Smike uses it that way to get some interesting angles. He uses his GoPro quite a bit. Chat him up sometime.

So much better in upside down mode. I'm going to go ride soon, maybe on whichever bike I guess and tilt that cam very high and on upside-down mode. Would be cool to see some track ahead of you.
