Cheers mate- I'm dealing with his dad now who seems a decent chap actually, just can't believe I paid out on these as described "in good working order" and receive this. Still his dad has asked me to get a quote and take it from there.

The lad who sold it want fucking shooting. That bang out of order buddy. Small claims court is the way, under the sale of goods act, goods much be in sale condition unless both parties agree otherwise.

New to me buddy, can't see why I should tbh. My local bike shop reckons they are shot also. They turned up with 7 dents in the rear not 2 as advertised here

BNIB or new to you, maybe been killed with degreaser and a pressure washer?
could try a stripdown and lube of freehub?
