 Gabe, if you want to be more competitive, build your Scott back up. Hardtails are much more suited to BMX/4X racing, especially in Ontario. There is no need to have a 7 inch travel freeride rig for 4X

learn to pump better
learn to manual/jump, but not before you can roll everything smoothly with out coming off the ground though
that full suspension isn't helping you either, a hardtail would be better
