Monarch Crest

 It was a brutal 4 days or back-to-back riding. Flew into Denver on thur and spent the night in Breck @9600 ft, rode Monarch the next day (fri) and then drove to Crested Butte that night, Sat we rode Dr's Park (w/out a shuttle), then Hartman Rocks on Sun (in a thunderstorm) and then hit Buffalo Creek/Nice Kitty on Monday before flying out Tue morning.

I was crushed after Monarch and the 12 miles of climbing up to Dr's Park just about killed me the next day. Fun, but brutal.

Yeah we drove up to the creek at Dr Park then climbed up from there because we didnt want to chance it with the rental truck (which we later realized was totally find since some Gunny dirtbags had done it in their subes...although they said it was sketchy and stalled out on the way back down haha!)

I was pretty surprised that the climb up Dr. Park did not bother me with respect to the elevation. But the elevation did have some effect: made it nearly impossible to digest a 3 meat breaky sando the morning of the third day (in hindsight, eating something called "the tripple bipass" before biking all day at over 10k ft. was not a good call)

I was pretty fatigued on the third day riding CB bike park but sort of relaxed that day since it got cut short by weather anyway. Then I rebounded and had one of the best riding days ever riding CB park again on the last day of biking.
