Thanks blindstuff, you point out all of the things I wish I could change about this video. It was a spur of the moment "let's go make a video" type of deal. I kept telling him to ride as close to me as possible but it didn't really happen...plus he starting getting tired and falling further back the more into the video you get, which does mess with the pacing.
You're right about the GoPro being tough to work with...especially when you're using a tiny phone screen to set up shots. I did change the field of view depending on the specifics of a given shot, most were medium while some were wide. Definitely need to experiment more to get the best results. A proper tripod & a willing cameraman would help too, stationary shot after stationary shot can get stale but I made due with what we had to work with.
Thanks again for watching and taking the time to give some feedback, I really appreciate it.

The GoPro is hard to work with, but you will probably get better results using a narrower FOV and setting up your shots using the rule of thirds, there are plenty of good tutorials out there about it. The wide FOV "slows" eberything down.
For video, when it comes to group riding, try to bunch your riders up as much as possible. If your follow rider feels like hes about to rub the other persons rear tire, when you see the video it will look like a mile of distance.
The bad part about making a good video is that the riding wont be fun, it will be lots and lots of re-runs.
