i can imagine, while we're at it any of you got any tips on the doubles? Only thing I haven't done and want to do them, but i'm not great at jumping as well. Cheers guys

Follow someone in to them so you can gauge there speed then just treat it like any other jump. They send you over the gap perfectly @youcallthatcheap

cheers i will have to get some courage up and try them at some point; how long had you been riding before you first tried them?

Ive been riding for a few years now but where I used to live only had xc trails so not many jumps. I moved to the UK in july last year and have pretty much been riding rogate and my local since then. I tried them for the first time in november I think and like sam said i was just following people in to them to get the right speed. It took me about 3 weeks to get them all done about a weekend on each but now they are pretty easy. Ive had a few crashes and lots of cases but I can get them now and I can feel when im going too slow. What i do is a try and find the smoothest line into the corners then i peddle in between the corners and out of them into the first one. Then a few more peddle strokes for the second and same for the third. The third one is the easiest for me because the take off is higher than the landing where as the second its the other way round. You do also have to make sure you really pump the landings and give it a good pop off the take off as well. If you can make the table on bikini well then you will make the first one and if you can make the bigger table on fromage youll be fine for the last two jumps. They are not that much harder than the rest of the jumps there its just scary because they have a big old hole in the middle and ive found that hole a few times.

yeah my DH bike is a lot harder to get in the air than the trail bike, but I with practise, I may try the first one and see how i go. cheers guys

Yeah i know what you mean i dont know how people ride the doubles on dh bikes. Anyway yeah the landing of the first is sloped to the side a bit so you can go for the side lower down first then practise working up to the higher side of the landing. If you make the first one well and give a few peddle strokes it will be very hard not to make the second one. Anyway enjoy.
