Broken Commencal

Snapped the axle when i landed on my commencal meta v4 2016 rockshox. Filmed on a gopro hero 4 silver #commencal

 Close call glad your ok. Nearly did the same once at stiniog when I lost the securing nut from one side of the axle scary!

 Same problem over here. Maxle broke during riding into two pieces...
Bike: COMMENCAL META AM V4 RACE 650B ROCKSHOX 2016 (1.000 kilometer, 20.000 vertical meter)

 mine was literally a few months old, only very few miles done on the bike!

 @SessionTrek: tis rather annoying, had to wait about 3 weeks for new parts as well!

 @FlyingHigher: After the first axle had been broken, I broke the second axle (also Maxle Ultimate).
Then I took the Commencal axle which led to a broken hub axle.
Which axle did you ride in the video? Had you any further problems?

 @SessionTrek: I have had a meta V4 for less than 4 months and gone through two rear axles.

I'm not sure what I should do- whether it is worth buying another if is going to happen again.

Have you managed to find a solution?

 it does suck! hopefully it will be sorted soon but commencal have not responded to my email yet so who knows when it will be fixed!

 You need to contact sram tech UK, commencal don't have responsibility for that part, they are only responsible for the frame, pivot bearings and hardware. Your best bet is take it back to the lbs you bought it from, they'll process with the correct people.

 I am in contact with commencal now, I will see what they say as i would hope they would send me a new parts from sram as it was on the bike when i bought it so i would expect them to do that!

 Was it only the rear maxle that Broke?

 yes i is the only thing that is broke but the derailleur has been bent sideways and the rear end has sustained a bit of damage from paint loss

 this happens when you overtorque a maxle

 i thought that was the case tbh, it happened again while in france
