 Genius! "Where's my shoe?"

Was that after the first run, I think you mentioned it on the bus.

Oh no, the first run was a very small slip. I wasn't riding anymore after this one. Cracked my helmet and was barely able to walk. Went to A&E, got an X-Ray (nothing broken thankfully) and gave a urine sample in case of internal bleeding. Got sent home with mega painkillers and told to rest up. I now have one of the best bruises I've ever had. I'll upload a photo! Big Grin

@sellcrackcocainetofundhobby: Hey man. I do indeed have body armour. I'm using a Leatt adventure suit thingy which is pretty badass but, as with most body armour, doesn't offer any protection of your back over the kidneys (see the photo link I posted in a reply above for an idea of the area not protected). I have an automatic tendency to roll when I fall and that means I basically land straight on that bit. That said I'd have come off worse without the armour as my jacket is torn in various places. Don't think there's armour out there that would allow the necessary range of motion on the bike and protect all areas in a crash.... I could use a motocross style kidney belt but I think it would restrict my range of motion too much :/

@Bad-Bill-BuckleBoots: cheers for reply Billy definitely food for thought I might invest in a kidney belt after seeing that bruise and see how I go riding with it and if it restricts my movement too much I might not use. I'm torn between the 661 rage pressure suit and Fox titan so. Which of these 2 would you choose? Hope your healed Now pal

@sellcrackcocainetofundhobby: No worries man. I've not seen either of those in person but from looking at images online the Fox Titan looks to offer better protection than the 661. It actually looks like it might even go somewhere towards protecting the areas that my Leatt does not! The big advantage of the Leatt armour is that it can totally integrate with a Leatt neck brace (which I use), whereas a friend of mine finds difficulty getting his neck brace to sit right with his POC armour to the point he's been considering cutting out a part of the armour to make space for the neck brace.....

I am indeed healed up now thanks very much. Just hoping to stay on the bike for the foreseeable future now! Big Grin

@Bad-Bill-BuckleBoots: thanks so much bill I am now sold on the fox titan s!! From what you said. It's crazy because I thought the 661 looked more protective but you know what your talking about more than me so I'm sold on the fox now. Much appreciated for taking time out to compare the 2. Hopefully it will integrate with the leatt neck brace better than the poc. I'm really not sold on the pocket armour vpd soft foam that's supposed to harden on impact, it's meant to not work in cold weather something us northerners know lots about, cold weather!
