Most of the areas I've been to in Mexico did't look fun to ride, at all. Too hot and no trees!
This looks a LOT more appealing.

Sorry to be so blunt but until Mexico gets that drug cartel and kidnapping shit under control I'll pass on any vacation down there. Way too many alternate awesome mountain bike vacation destinations in the world where you don't have to worry about never being seen again or to only come home in a body bag. Truth!

Sorry to read that, read a little bit more and get fully informed and then maybe you will learn that you guys are the biggest DRUG market in the planet, no doubt we are paying for your addicted society. Mexico is a huge territory, problems exist in focus areas, not everywhere. Watch something else besides Fox News.

1. Most of Mexico is safe. Only small areas are problematic
2. Yeah US boosts the drug cartel by consuming drugs and criminalizing them (which was done first in the 20s or 30s by Anslinger who was rumored to be helping the mob and later by Nixon to fight his political opponents). So maybe don't and it will be safer.

@ArturoPatrol: Don't be so assuming. We have a good friend who never came back from Mexico -- still missing after 5+ years. Probably buried in a mass grave down there somewhere
